Halloween weekend in Nanjing was actually a lot of fun. Pictures are up on the Flickr site and worth a quick look.
I had no idea what to wear and at the last minute I remembered that I had a superman t-shirt. I threw on some dress pants, a shirt and tie and shaved off my wannabe beard and became “Clark in transition to Superman”. I actually ended up winning the competition and won free drinks. Seeing as how I wasn’t drinking that night, I handed my prize off to my drunken friends instead.
Saturday night was dinner with a couples dinners – which really isn’t fun if your fiancee is back in the States. But it was nice to hang out with friends nonetheless. Afterwards, Klu and I went off to watch Layer Cake
While not a great movie, it was pretty fun as far as gangster movies go. I did, however, really enjoy the camera work and the lighting. Very good work. The first 10 mintues made me want to be a drug kingpin, but the rest of the movie really made me want to stick with my day job. I worry a lot less about hits and rival gangs now.

Cute litte Chinese lesson of the evening:
In Chinese, they call a bar a “ba” or a “jiu ba”—“é…’å?§”
The first character means “alcohol – jiu” and the second one means “bar – ba”
