While I am huge Wolf Parade, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse and Clap Your Hands fan…I’m also a huge girl and have long harbored a crush on Deb Talan ever since I heard the beautiful “Gladdest Thing” with lyrics like “I will be the gladdest thing under the sun/I will touch a hundred flowers and not pick one” she easily fell into my list of favorite singer/songwriters and it’s been a long time since I last heard of her until last night when I stumbled across a wonderful new band that goes by the uber-cute name of the weepies

I found this band by accident and was listening to them without any idea that Deb was connected to the project, but I instantly fell in love with the lyrics and sound of the band. I also recognized how similar this woman’s voice was and how happy/calm she made me. Thanks to the internets, I found out the lovely Deb Talan and the wonderful Steve Tannen

I love her voice and their eclectic but insightful music and lyrics. So yes, if you’re in the mood to calm down a bit after rocking out to Wolf Parade’s awesomeness, check out the Weepies and enjoy.

By the way, some stuff I’ve been listening to lately…

The Weepies – Gotta Have You
Matisyahu – King Without A Crown
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Is This Home On Ice
Adrianne – Adeline
Joshua Radin – Someone Else’s Life
Wolf Parade – I’ll Believe In Anything
