To all three people that read this site, I’ve got a bit of a problem with my laptop and was hoping for some advice/assistance. Essentially, when I play music off of iTunes every song or so gets a second long hiccup. The song is playing and then just pauses for a second or so.
This used to happen now and then when I was doing something memory and processor intensive a la photoshop and 4 trillion other programs, but now regardless of what I’m running the computer still pauses. In fact, it was for this main reason that I wiped my computer and re-installed everything last week but apparently to no avail. Help?
It’s a 12inch G4 powerbook running 10.4.6 and iTunes 6.0.4 and
I don’t have any widgets or anything running the background. It’s slowly driving me crazy; I love music and not being able to enjoy a song on my computer is close to torture for me. Help!

Update: I had an iTunes widget program running on dashboard and that was slowing down the computer. I got rid of it (not just closed it out, but went to the “manage widgets” program and got rid of it, restarted the computer, and all was happy.

Dear Alicson, Mac users can’t use Winamp, so even if that suggestion was a good idea, it is definately not a feasible one.
Meanwhile, in reference to the problem. Things that regularly cause iTunes to pause is the podcast checking and the ministore, so if you have either of those running… Other than that, I’m not so sure… Sorry, hope you find the problem…
Didn’t know Mac users can’t use Winamp :-/
I know I wasn’t being helpful.. sorry ;)
‘very not an iTunes fan and quite comfortable with Winamp.
