Over the weekend I seriously revamped my sexy computer and added a ton of programs to personalize my lovely laptop.
Among the huge upgrade, some of the gems are:
QuicksilverVirtueDesktop
Witch
ClearDock
Quicksilver is difficult to explain, but to say that it makes using a computer intuitive and totally personalized is an understatement and really only the beginning. This program rocks and I had missed it after upgrading to 10.4.
VirtueDesktop is incredible. I’ve been using it for only a day, but it totally rocks. It essentially sets up four different virtual desktops. Sortof the way that bblean works. It’s not nearly as comprehensive as bblean, but it does the job well and it makes me really happy.
A dumb thing about macs is that while you can minimize programs, you can’t bring them back up again. Lame. Witch solves that and makes me happier for it.
The cleardock program just does what it says in taking out the shading from the dock at the bottom of the screen. Since I use quicksilver now and always keep the dock minimized anyways, it doesn’t matter too much…but it’s cute and clean. And Ali would always point out how much better her dock program was due to the clarity. So there. humph. ;P
