So this fall will be a little busy for me:

I’m taking the LSAT at the end of September and so I’m taking the prep class offered by Kaplan at the cheap, cheap cost of $2,300. However, if this bumps me up from a 162 to a 172 then it will have been worth every penny. I’m also signed up for 17 hours of private one-on-one tutoring. Fun stuff indeed. My goal is also to have all my applications turned in by November 1. Come November, the application and test-taking process should be done.

There’s that whole “working at a big law firm” thing that I’m doing as well. The last half of the summer has been pretty laid back at the office, but I have a feeling that the autumn will not be so easy. And on top of that, my average billable hours in July and August are so atrocious that I’m pretty screwed in terms of ending up with a good yearly average unless the autumn and winter are brutal. So…on one hand, I’d love the 4K check if my billables are high and the extra OT will certainly make my bank account happier…but that’ll be at the cost of not having any free time for the rest of the year.

I’m also training for the Marine Corps Marathon at the end of October. I plan on using this site as a progress marker for that. As of right now I can do about 5.5 miles an hour but the most I’ve done is 15 miles…which leaves me with nearly another ten miles left to run in order to complete the race (dear lord…4 to 5 hours of running? I don’t even sleep for 5 hours). Next week we’re supposed to run 23 but I’m behind due to Honduras and general laziness. That being said, I’m feeling pretty good about stuff and I think I’ll be able to stay on top of things.

By the way, DONATE.

However, I am pretty excited about the great music that will be coming to DC this fall. October alone will have me seeing:

Regina Spektor
Josh Ritter
The Decemberists
Tapes ‘n Tapes
Minus the Bear and The Velvet Teen

The only downside is that I have an extra ticket for two of those shows (Regina Spektor, Minus the Bear) so if you live in the area…though mayhaps Ali would mind seeing Ms. Spektor with me?
