Anouk – The Difference

Ok, I found her about two hours ago. Good god, is this an incredible singer. I love her new album, Who’s Your Momma. Anouk has a voice that is a perfect blend of Joni Mitchell and Joss Stone. Amazing. Her website is here but be warned that it’s all in Dutch. (Edit: Also, go to her MySpace Site for some English goodness.)

The words are slowly sinking in
Despair comes unexpected;
Everything falls out of place.
Now, my imagination,
It moves in all directions.
And I can only see your face
Now, please don’t leave me…

I’m caught in the middle, it
Pulls me down to places no one goes,
So you need to find out
If there’s a chance for us.
What a difference it makes
Waking up here without you.
Baby, we can make this right.

Water’s so much colder.
I was lasting longer
Ever since you went away.
Having a different point of view
Doesn’t make it right for you
To decide that you don’t have to stay
Now, please don’t leave me…

I’m caught in the middle, it
Pulls me down to places no one goes,
So you need to find out
If there’s a chance for us.
What a difference it makes
Waking up here without you.
And, baby, we can make this right.

This heart can not erase you,
After years replace you.
Don’t you think that’s kind of sad?
Now, please don’t leave me…

I’m caught in the middle, it
Pulls me down to places no one goes,
So you need to find out
If there’s a chance for us.
What a difference it makes
Waking up here without you.
And, baby, we can make this right.

We can make this right.
