After having recently been informed by a certain someone that my stories about March Madness are neither funny nor interesting, I will simply comment that I’m looking forward to the development of wireless technology and the ability to stream live video onto mobile devices and that it’s getting easier and easier to stream the games on one’s computer.
I also think I need to start making more guy friends at least once a year to talk about college basketball and some foreigner friend to watch european league soccer with him. The downside to European soccer (football!) is that, while I love watching it, because of the time difference and the unavailability of one to watch it from home (without paying dumb additional cable prices) is that to watch the good games, I’ll need to be at a bar at around 10 or 11am during the weekends. Frankly, this wasn’t a problem when I had a 9-5 job because I had nothing to do on my weekends and I was also a borderline alcoholic. It pretty much rocked and I actually made friends with others who were at the bar on a Saturday morning, drinking a beer and unhealthy breakfasts while watching TV. As a law student, however, I need to spend my weekends (1) sober and (2) studying. Drinking at 10am translates into the need for a nap at 1pm which translates to waking up at 3pm which translates to a wasted morning.
Speaking of wasted weekends, operation: drunk while working on papers seems to have about a 50/50 shot of working. I tried it about a month ago. Result? I was sloshed but ended up writing a paper that the teachers used as an example for the class. Last night? I ended up passing out without writing anything of use for today. I want to try an experiment and see if there’s a difference between beer and wine, between red and white wine, etc. Unfortunately, I’d also like to pass school and getting drunk every night probably isn’t the best of ideas.
