When I bought my most recent computer, a macbook, last year, I signed up for .mac, or what’s now known as MobileMe. In short, the program syncs up your contacts, your .mac emails, and your calendar every 15 minutes between your iPhone/iPod Touch, your computer, and the online version of the program.

Additionally, there is also iDisk that provides remote access to files that one throws in there. One is given 20GB of storage space and I use it pretty frequently as a back-up and as a place to share files.
But it’s $99 a year and I’m wondering if it’s worth it.
I don’t use v2.0 of the iPhone/iPodTouch due to the fact that I just really don’t like the limitations set up by Apple for 3rd party apps. (The debate/comparison between Jailbreak v. 2.0 is much better described here.)

So that’s how things have stood for the past year. And now I’ve been able to start making use of Dropbox and I find that while I’m currently limited to only 2GB as opposed to MobileMe’s 20, it’s a) a lot easier to use, and b) free. I’m seriously thinking that I may take the storage space hit and go for the free option.

And on a side note. Cuil doesn’t seem very impressive, but then again, that’s what I thought of google when I first used it way back when.
