Lately I’ve been asked what my “type” is when I’m looking to date a girl.
Now, I don’t know if Garfunkel and Oates are exactly what I’m looking for, but I think the ability to simultaneously rap AND reference Madoff, Innerspace,* and the Bluth family may be pretty high up on whatever metric I have.
That, and the phrase “Word to your face…and your mother,” makes me giggle.
What else? Well, for one, I’m back. Autumn is well on its way and my vacation – including a break from writing – is coming to a close. I’ve been asked what this site is about, and while I can’t keep its theme too succinct, I can say that the intent will be to share the occasional funny story, the things that happen to this law student who is no longer sure about his chosen profession, and pretty much develop this into my avenue to try to make sense of it all. I can no longer afford a therapist, and alcohol – my love of red wines notwithstanding – tends to be a fun but less than effective tool when it comes to repairing existential cracks and fissures. But the important thing is that I’m going to try to be posting with a greater frequency than once a season.
One of my favorite things about the change in seasons is that it feels like a new beginning. And, in truth, it is. Because, after all, every day’s another chance to turn it all around.
*Also, the girl needs to know, pretty much immediately, what other movie uses the same theme song used in that trailer.

i just watched that vid of theirs for the first time this weekend! i love them :-)
so… shit. you’re saying red wine WON’T cure what ails me??
Dude, if both epiphanies AND positive action resulted from red-wine-drinking, then I’d be…well, both action-filled and epiphanized.
Also, for some reason I saw these vids and thought that you’d get a kick out of them.
