Now and then CCTV does something pretty random and yet awesome. They play american movies in Chinese, but they use English subtitles. So one knows what’s going on through reading and it helps one’s chinese at the same time.
Tonight’s movie is Freaky Friday and I’m not sure what it is, but I actually really enjoyed this movie. And I’m surprised by how much I feel as if I understand. It’s a lot more effective than watching a movie in English but with Chinese subtitles. From now on, I’m doing this will all the movies I watch. I really feel like I picked up a lot.
The movie tiself is surprisingly fun. Really quite enjoyable, and funny. I feel quite dorky in saying it, but I would love to sit down with my family and watch it with them. It’s a great family film.
So to all of you with a family nearby, go enjoy their company and check the film out. To all those in China, go buy the DVD for 6 kuai and then come over to my place.
