And just like that, my dear friends, we find ourselves in a new year. Personally, the whole celebrating the end/beginning of the year was never my thing – it always comes off as anti-climactic (unlike anti-climatic which means you’re not only against the weather, but also likely an idiot). It’s like the buildup of a big storm on the horizon only to conclude with a brief drizzle.

But here we are. 2010 and the future is now. By 2015 I expect my hoverboard and self-drying jacket a la Back to the Future II. It seems that Nokia’s built a concept phone that runs on Coke. Familiar? Mr. Fusion! And based on the remakes that Hollywood is trying to shove down our throats (Clash of the Titans, I’m looking at you and my look is full of hate), I have no doubt that we’ll reach Jaws 19 in the next five years (and in 3-D to boot!) and that the Cubs will win the world series. You know why? Because 2010 is the year of possibility.

American Apparel has that hat coming out in its fall 1985 2010 line.

2008 wasn’t a good year with much too much time spent feeling cold, alone, and unrecognizable to my self.

2009 was about movement. Uncertain movement, but I traveled, smiled, and began to feel warm again. I would see glimpses of not only the former self that I recognized, but the self that I wish to be.

2010? I graduate this year. I make choices. I stretch out more and look myself in the mirror. 2010 is about possibility.

And it feels good.
