1) Pillow – My Life Projection Story

I found out about this band during my junior year of college and, of course, they promptly broke up about a month after. Regardless, I listened to them just about everyday and totally had a huge crush on the lead singer. Can’t remember her name, but I’m pretty sure I had our wedding all planned out.

2) The Shins – They’ll Soon Discover

Sierra would be so happy to hear, but I totally loved the Spongebob Squarepants movie. Ridiculously fun and awesome. Even more fun and awesome, though, was the soundtrack. So damn good.

3) Wilco – Jesus, Etc.

Probably one of my favorite songs by Wilco. Such a chill and laid back song along with some great lyrics. Some of my favorite times in China I associate with this song. Just sitting with friends, and talking and laughing while this song’s playing the background.

“Our love is all we have. Our love is all of God’s money. Everyone is a burning sun.”

Indeed.

4) Frou Frou – Hear Me Out

I found this song through Alicson and it’s quickly become one of my favorite songs as well. This one is a whole lot more personal to me and it serves as a pretty regular reminder to the aforementioned idea of daily choices vs. the one big choice and the importance of the latter.

5) Badly Drawn Boy – You Were Right

I found this song by accident a little over two years ago. I’ve never told her, but this song always makes me think of Alicson and about falling for her in general. For a couple of months before we started dating, we would talk everyday for hours (literally) at a time. It always reminds me of the hours on the phone and the text messages and all the sweet dorky stuff none of you need to know about.
