My absolute, hands down, favorite thing about being with Alicson is that we were friends for a good three years before dating. It was like going through 23 dates without any of the awkwardness about who pays for what and if one should kiss at the door. It wasn’t a perfect friendship, but what is wonderful about it was that it grew from a brief introduction 6 years ago to conversation and trust over the years.

I don’t talk nearly enough about her on this site because…well, because I’m not eloquent enough to do her justice. How does one really describe trust, faith and love? How does one describe a smile or a joke or a feeling appropriately? She smells of fruit and berries. She has soft skin and one of the cutest sounding laughs I’ve ever heard. She’s a small person but when she sneezes she could wake the dead. I don’t like ice cream, but she appreciates it for the both of us. She trusts and loves me for some reason that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to understand. Everyone who meets her thinks of her as shy and soft-spoken, while the truth is that she’s anything but.

She’s wonderful and complicated…and when I asked her to marry me…she said yes.
